Rice hull is not a waste

Submitted by: Jayson Cantores Berto

Teachers and students in an Agro-Industrial high school show how to turn a waste (rice hull) into something that can benefit their school garden. With the initiative of the teacher, students fabricated a open-type rice hull carbonizer based on their module that was provided by the Philippine Rice Research Institute. This way, they can now use their produce in ornamental, vegetable, and rice production as part of their specialization - which is Horticulture. Also, this initiative serves as their income generating project as some farmer-parents and neighboring schools buy Carbonized Rice Hull (CRH) from the school.
